While Tasmania is the world’s largest supplier of wild abalone, producing 25% of the total international catch, the wild product is not consistently available. AbTas helps fill the gap and started the challenging business of farming abalone in 2000, to meet the ever-increasing demand for blacklip and greenlip abalone. It also produces a hybrid of the two species.
