Cruising in Tasmania is a popular way to introduce yourself to our island home. Whether you're visiting Hobart as part of your around the world trip on a luxury cruise ship, or you're more interested in a dedicated Tasmanian cruise itinerary, both are easily achievable.
The Tasmanian Travel Centre in Hobart is ideally located close to the Hobart cruise terminal, known as Macquarie Shed 2 (or MAC2 to locals). On days when there are cruise ships in port, we do get very busy, with many passengers disembarking and utilising our ticketing services to book hop on hop off services and day tours. We work closely with tour operators in the lead up to cruise ship days to compile and display all available tours for the day and our online booking engine means that we can book during periods of high demand with confidence. Our range of souvenirs and handcrafted Tasmanian products also provides great take home gifts!
For those set on a Tasmanian cruise itinerary, there are a number of operators that work in Tasmania during the summer season. These ships are usually smaller and generally have capacity for less than 50 guests on board. Alternatively, there are a number of vessels that work year round out of Hobart and are available for charter. Popular areas for charter are the Southwest National Park and along the east coast. Special charters are also available during the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
If you would like to inquire about charter or cruise services, or would like to confirm an organised or personalised tour for your Hobart visit on your next big cruise, please contact us so that we can help you have the best experience possible!
