This enchanting valley nicknamed by locals the ‘valley of love’ will steal your heart for much more than a day. There is a reason why it encompasses one of Australia's best towns (New Norfolk bronze award for top tourism town).

Depending on what time you set off from Hobart (if you do not have small children and can afford the luxury of a sleep in), call into Stefano Lubiana for wine tasting open from Wednesday to Sunday 11 am - 4 pm. They have some beautiful wines which are biodynamic, organic and vegan.

Fantastic coffee can be purchased in New Norfolk from Cheeky Little Place, Circle Coffee or Black Swan an incredible specialist bookshop. If it’s the weekend, you can pick up some gourmet delights to go from the Agrarian Kitchen Kiosk or take a picnic blanket and eat on-site. Glen Derwent Tea Rooms offers a gorgeous high tea on weekends or Devonshire tea if you fancy.

There are some fascinating history and ghost tours being held at Willow Court Asylum so be sure to check those out via the socials or if you’re visiting over a weekend browse the local antiques or local market held every Saturday from 8am until 2pm.

If you are up for some adventure and fun check out Railtrack Riders, Australia's first Pedal Railway at Maydena - the scenery is absolutely amazing! Tassie Bound Adventures offer kayaking tours and specifically a paddle with the platypus (the valley claim to have the largest in the world). Curringa Farm offer tours and if you and your family have never seen a sheep shorn then you haven't lived (can you tell I grew up rouseabouting in the Midlands).
