Recently on my trip down to the Tasman Peninsula, I discovered Hellfire Bluff Distillery (owned by the Daly Family) located in Marion Bay. They are open 10 till 4 daily and offer free tastings of their speciality Potato Vodka (must try), London Dry Gin, Summer Gin, Piquant Gin, Sloe Gin, Coffee Liqueur and Limoncello. The range is handcrafted using the pristine local rainwater and finest botanicals – including some quintessentially Tasmanian ingredients.

They make their speciality vodka using potatoes from their onsite potato farm – so kind of a farm to bottle concept. The Daly's planted their first potato crop here by hand over 30 years ago and have since grown to become one of Australia’s most diverse potato producers. The Hellfire Bluff Distillery began when the family followed their dream to produce unique spirits in their stunning location and chased their passion to value-add to their potatoes grown on the farm.

Continuing your way down the Tasman Peninsula make sure to stop off at Cubed Espresso, a solar powered espresso bar located at Pirates Bay lookout. If it’s cold out there, a hit of the chilli chocolate will certainly warm you up!

If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, I recently did the O'Gradys Falls Track starting at Bracken Lane. Follow the Bracken Lane fire trail until you see the sign for the O'Gradys Falls Track! This is a short 40 minute return walk and has just recently been reopened.
