Last week, the TTIC crew packed their bags (and snacks) and hit the road to Launceston for the Tasmanian Tourism Conference. I was joined by four fantastic team members, and together we dove into two days of inspiration, innovation, and a whole lot of learning.

Day 1 kicked off with a whirlwind of ideas—from making travel more accessible, to rethinking brand communication, electrifying Tassie’s highways, celebrating Aboriginal cultural tourism, and even tackling psychosocial hazards in the workplace. We wrapped up the day with a team dinner at a local spot, sharing laughs, reflections, and good food (of course), before heading back to the hotel to recharge for round two.

Day 2 brought the big hitters. Amanda Stevens wowed us with her insights as a consumer futurist, and Bianca Welsh of Stillwater delivered a deeply personal and emotional talk on mental health that truly moved us. Then came Josh Howard, whose business Single Use Ain’t Sexy showed us how one bold idea can spark real change. We left inspired—and maybe a little teary-eyed.

By late afternoon, we were back on the road to Hobart, tired but buzzing with ideas. The conference wasn’t just about tourism—it was about connection, growth, and making TTIC an even better place to work and serve.
