Description

Providence Vineyard is located near the township of Lilydale, in the Tamar Valley, Northern Tasmania.
Providence was founded by French winemaker Jean Miguet in 1956 and is the oldest of Tasmania's modern vineyards. The two-hectare (five-acre) vineyard produces pinot noir and chardonnay and a small amount of Riesling. The original pinot noir and chardonnay vines planted by Jean Miguet in 1956 still produce fruit used in the current vintages.
You can taste the range of award-winning Providence wines at the cellar door most of the year. Open seven days September to April. Closed Mondays - Thursday other times. Freecall 1800 992 967 to check. Your purchased wines can be shipped Australia wide free of charge.
The Tamar Valley is one of Tasmania's premium wine producing regions. The area is characterised by a cool climate, and long ripening periods; ideal conditions for high quality grapes.
The Vineyard is a 25-minute drive north-east of Launceston (27 km) on the Tamar Valley Wine Route.
